No. If you understand the basic rules of baseball, you’ll be playing within minutes. The included Quick Start Guide and complete rulebook make learning the game easy for both new and experienced baseball fans.

How long does a game take?

Most games are completed in 30–45 minutes, depending on your pace and managerial decisions.

How many players can play?

DDBG is designed for one or two players. It also works well in leagues, tournaments, and replay projects where multiple managers compete throughout a season.

The Base Game includes the game board, dice, charts, score sheets, and everything needed to play—except player Team Decks. Team Decks are purchased separately so you can build your own collection.

What is included in the Complete Game Bundle?

The Complete Game Bundle includes the Diamond Dice Baseball Game plus all 30 current Major League Baseball Team Decks, providing everything needed to begin playing immediately.

Do I need Team Decks to play?

Yes. Team Decks contain the player cards used during gameplay. Each game requires one Team Deck for each team being played.

Can I purchase only my favorite team?

Absolutely. Team Decks are sold individually, allowing you to purchase only the teams you want or gradually build your collection over time.

Can I mix teams from different seasons?

Yes. You can play any matchup you like, including teams from different seasons or eras, creating dream matchups that never happened in real life.

Will new Team Decks work with my existing game?

Are Team Decks updated every season?

Yes. Current season Team Decks are updated annually using that season’s Major League Baseball statistics.

Historical Seasons

What are Historical Team Decks?

Historical Team Decks allow you to replay classic teams from baseball history using player cards based on actual season statistics. Relive legendary pennant races, World Series matchups, or create your own dream tournaments.

Which historical seasons are available?

Diamond Dice Baseball Game Manager’s Edition offers historical teams beginning with the 1903 season and will continue expanding with additional seasons and classic teams.

How many player cards are included in a Historical Team Deck?

Each Historical Team Deck contains approximately 24 player cards, including the team’s top position players and pitching staff from that season.

How are historical player ratings determined?

Every player card is created using actual statistics from the selected season. Ratings are carefully developed to provide realistic performance while maintaining balanced gameplay.

Do Historical Team Decks include Pitcher Batter Cards?

No. Historical Team Decks require the Universal Pitcher Batter Card Set, which is sold separately. Each Pitcher Batter Card Set includes two complete sets of the three universal pitcher batting cards, allowing both teams in a historical game to use the proper pitcher batting cards.

Why are Pitcher Batter Cards sold separately?

The Universal Pitcher Batter Cards are reusable with every Historical Team Deck. Purchasing one set allows you to use it across your entire historical collection without buying duplicate cards with every team.

Can I play historical teams against modern teams?

Yes. DDBG allows you to create dream matchups between teams from different eras. While these games are for entertainment, player ratings remain based on each player’s actual season statistics.

Can I replay an entire historical season?

Absolutely. Historical Team Decks are designed for single games, complete season replays, leagues, tournaments, and World Series recreations.

Will more historical teams be released?

Yes. New historical teams and seasons will be added regularly as the DDBG Historical Collection continues to grow.

Can I collect every World Series team?

That is one of our long-term goals. We plan to build a comprehensive historical library featuring many of baseball’s greatest teams, allowing fans to replay nearly every era of Major League Baseball.
